Nikki Bartlett

At school Nikki’s particular focus was athletics, gaining county and national representation. In 2005, at university, she got into rowing. Within a year she had represented Great Britain at the European University Championships. In 2008, Nikki went to the Girls 4 Gold testing, where she achieved one of the highest ranked testing results in the country for her category in rowing and was fast tracked onto the World Class Start GB rowing system. She then switched sports to become a long distance triathlete and was selected as an Alumni Sports Scholar at the University of Birmingham. Like many, Nikki ‘accidently’ fell into triathlon, and after the first two races, caught ‘the tri bug’. She completed a half IRONMAN and full IRONMAN whilst still training as a rower on the World Class Start system in 2011. A reoccurring stress fracture whilst rowing, led Nikki to transferring sports at the beginning of 2012. She’s never looked back, loves the sport and meeting so many lovely people.
